Well Made December 22, 2008 Robert J. Campolong 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This seat works great and looks great and is very well Made. If you are gona have tiny people using your potty for awhile buy this.
Not at all what I expected... but good anyway. December 12, 2008 Sad Discoverer (Charlotte, NC USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered this seat based on the reviews and the fact that in less than a week of potty training it was obvious my daughter was going to fall off the toilet WITH her potty seat still in hand since the seat did not 'latch' onto our toilet seat (which turns out none of them do =/). I really liked that it made it possible for us all to use the toilet, it had a soft closing to keep little hands safe and it was removable for (inevitable) poopie accidents she'll have in the future. Here's what the product really solved... or not. Yes, we can all use the toilet and our daughter is no longer teetering on the toilet with her toilet seat in hand. Yes, it's removable and had I known they made removable toilet seats I would've gotten a Kohler a long time ago. No, the soft closing DOES NOT keep little hands safe. I was misled by the product info (or misunderstood it) and thought the LID was the one that had the soft closing on it which is what would make sense if you're trying to keep little hands from getting smashed. What lowers softly are the SEATS which is totally useless. If my child is sitting on the upper seat she could certainly benefit from using a soft closing lid when she goes to lower the lid before flushing... but what difference does it make to my husband and I that HER seat can lower softly (with the lid on it) onto OUR seat? We can lower the seats and the lid without smashing our hands already, DUH! This whole issue aside, I still like that there is no need for an extra potty seat and that the whole thing removes for cleaning which is why I gave it 3 stars. I WOULD buy the product again for the features it DOES have but not for the features I was misled into thinking it had prior to ordering.
funny looking, but great toilet seat! December 10, 2008 German girl Ok, so I got this seat not really knowing how it was going to look/function. For an elongated seat it's really weird, but just narrow enough my 2 y.o. daughter doesn't fall in. The top lid does not have the quiet close feature and will slam down like any other plastic toilet seat. However, if it is closed along with either of the other 2 parts of the seat it really is a quiet close. Upon reading reviews on Amazon and the internet some people complain about the toddler seat hitting you in the back. It did not occur to me until I ordered it and received it that you must keep in mind that for a normal/ average sized adult this will not be an issue. For those who are overweight, bordering on obesity, yes, it will hit you in the back so consider a removable seat if that is going to be an issue for you. I plan on ordering another one for the downstairs bathroom and getting rid of her other potty seats because it is such a pain to remove and set somewhere and more importantly having to clean out potties after each use, yuck! It also gets rid of the potential for the dog to drink out of the toilet...lid closed = no water for the dog, portable potty seat on = dog can stick tongue down into bowl which = mess & yuck!
Whole family pleased November 29, 2008 A. Brown (Saint Paul, MN) The Kohler Transitions toilet seat has been wonderful as our 3 year old trains on the regular toilet. We had so much trouble with portable toddler seats that did not fit our elongated toilet and ended up a drippy mess. We have 2 of the new seats and couldn't be happier. Our 11 year old was so tired of sharing a bathroom with his 3 year old sister, finally he can simply lift the toddler seat and no mess! Highly recommend.
Potty for the small butt November 19, 2008 John F. Carney Excellent for a young family. Child frienly and comfortable for the whole family. Made of plastic . very easy to keep clean and sanitized.
