Very effective and inobtrusive July 31, 2008 KT (morristown, nj) I bought 2 of this mat to keep my dogs off my sofas. They work very well and yet are humane. There are 3 levels to "shock" the animals. Even at the highest level, it is no more than a big static electricity shock you may get after walking on wool carpeting. Easy to turn on and off, and roll up when not in use. This sure beats having to place random objects on the furniture which made it look like clutter! I highly recommend this product.
Works like a charm June 18, 2008 R. Mitchell (Temple Hills, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love it and the cats hate it. It works great and keeps the cats off the new couch. I wish I had found this product sooner.
Exactly as advertised June 16, 2008 L. Keepers Very effective! Took exactly one attempt per pet to permanently keep them out of my living room. No more "accidents" in that room ever since. I don't even have to turn it on any more. They just stay away. Now they only "go" on the carpet just inside the house next to the doggie door. Only when I'm not home. Not sure how to fix that behavior. :-)
Not worth the money! June 5, 2008 Kandice Jackson (Auburn, AL) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The scatmat worked for a couple of months and then just quit working. You can only return it for 30 days. Since mine worked for a couple o f months and then quit I am stuck with a $76.00 piece of plastic. My cats lay on it all the time ... keep in mind this while the mat is on high with new batteries!! Don't waste your money!
Really GREAT purchase! May 5, 2008 S. Jameson (Maryland's Eastern Shore) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
We were pulling our hair out trying to get our Yorkie puppy housetrained. He had developed a liking for the area behind our recliners and instead of bothering to alert us to his need to go out, he just went to his favorite place. Very Frustrating! I read about the scat mat online and decided to give it a try. We put the scat mat on the lowest setting (kitten!)- since the puppy only weighs 5 pounds - and it worked like a charm. Within one day he started alerting us that he needed to relieve himself. I think that using the scat mat had disrupted his habit, and since he couldn't take the easy way out he had to find another way. Luckily, he chose to be cooperative and is now housetrained. (NOTE: Housebroken through the use of the scat mat as a passive deterrent, and the consistant use of small treats as a reward for good behavior.) I can't say how long the battery will last, as I believe that my dog was only "corrected" one time. My only concern now is to figure out when to remove the scat mat and if my puppy will notice that it is gone.
