Food bowl January 8, 2009 J. Powell (Port Orange FL) I couldn't find this bowl for cats so I purchased the dog bowl. My cat is still throwing up so I guess it doesn't slow her eating.
Didn't slow down my dog! December 27, 2008 Julie B Moretto (DeRidder LA United States) I recently took in a Jack Russell terrier mixed stray. He ate so fast that every time he ate he got the hiccups. I saw a bowl like this online and when I saw Amazon have one I had to get it. I got the water bowl as well. Neither have slowed down his habits. I have a cocker spaniel who would drink tons of water fast and the water bowl seems to slow the speed but not the quantity. I have to fill the bowl up 3 times a day so neither one is helping. And I agree, the food dish slips and slides but the water bowl doesn't ... how about using the same concept to get both to be non-slippery. I do not recommend this product.
Didn't slow my dog down enough September 30, 2008 Christina Lacomb (Albany, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Even after using this dish, my dog still had trouble from eating too fast. I consulted my vet and he suggested I use a dish with a stand that raises the dish off the floor and feed canned food or home-prepared food instead of kibble. I tried that instead of this dish and my dog hasn't had any more problems with eating too fast.
Poor construction, slides all over the floor September 1, 2008 Zozobra (Santa Fe, NM USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this bowl to counter the problems I have with the "Brake Fast" brand, of similar design. The Contech stated it had no slip functionality -- that is does not slide on the tile floor while your dog eats from it. Well, mine showed up with 2 of the rubber feet missing and it slides all of the place. It also quite small. Suggest that until Contech and or the other leading "slow down and eat" bowl makers get a clue that these things slide all of the floor -- and do something about it (like put a real rubber no slip ring around the entire bowl bottom perimeter), that you will need to modify the bowl not to slide around.
Works pretty well! June 4, 2008 V. Kunde (Genoa City, Wisconsin) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Had gottent this dish a while back for my little terrier who likes to snarf her food. Got this one for my lab to slow her eating down a little. Works pretty well for her. Makes her take smaller bites and chew more than eating out of her regular bowl. I really like the fact that the bowls are made of food quality plastic and you can put them in the dishwasher. Great product!
