works miracles December 16, 2008 Nicole D. Turner 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this dog trainer kind of skeptical. But it has really turned my dog around. I do not even have to tell her some things anymore, she just knows. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the batteries. They do not last but a few weeks. I turn the collar off every time I need to, which is usually when she is in the house and there is no company. So it is not even on that often. But I have already had to buy new batteries for it twice and I have had it 2 months.
Training with a Great Dane September 28, 2008 D. JOHNSTON (Vancouver, BC) We purchased this product a month ago for taking our tame 200lb great dane off leash more often -- and it's been a success so far. The varying levels of discipline this collar produces is great for the subtle reminder nick to the 'get back here now' zap. Within 5min of his first walk wearing this, our dog learned the 'heel' command. This collar has made our lives much easier walking the dog -- no more do have have the dog tug on the leash, he simply stays at our side without reminder. People are usually a little shocked that our voracious dog will walk right past them & their dog without incident. We've mostly stopped using the collar now as his behavior has improved immensely, we now just make him wear the collar 'just in case'.
works great but batteries don't last long August 27, 2008 Jess G. Norris (missouri) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Works great on our Welsh Terrier. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because the batteries in the collar itself only lasted about 3 weeks. That was with little use.
Good, but too long for small dogs October 28, 2007 R. Courtney 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I just got it and I'm fairly happy so far. It's small and lightweight as advertised and the quality seems good. Loading batteries into the receiver can be tricky so be careful. The transmitter and receiver each take two batteries. I don't know yet how long they will last. The snap collar makes fastening easy. My biggest disappointment was that the collar would not fit my Cocker Spaniel. If your dog's neck size is smaller than 15", look for a different collar. The stimulation levels seem good - I tested levels 1-4 on my underarm. Level one was barely noticeable, level four approaches discomfort and will probably be the highest I will need. Features that this model doesn't have but you may want to look for include rechargable batteries, waterproof transmitter, momentary stimulation and remote turn-off.
