 Works fine, but hard to mount properly on dog July 19, 2008

The Smartkey works fine,is waterproof, and the battery lasts a long time. However, it requires a 3/4 inch collar to mount it right up against the dogs neck.
My dog, a chewer, got to the first one hanging from the loop of a martingale collar, and chewed it to bits. He got to the second which was mounted on a metal loop in the tag ring of a regular snap collar. Dogs home alone are bored all day, and will work on getting to something like that Smartkey if there's any possibility of getting to it. My previous dog, old and tired, had the same key for her last three years.
I just ordered the third one, and will have to buy a regular buckled nylon collar to slip the nylon through the slit provided to hold it right against his neck. Third time's a charm (I hope).
