Product Description The KandH Ice Eliminator is the first birdbath heater that looks like it belongs in a birdbath. It safely maintains open water to 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, giving bird watchers year-round wild bird activity. Its natural color and 18 cord blend in with nearly every birdbath. It can also be spray painted to match your birdbath. Virtually indestructible, its durable enamel finish is easy to clean. Thermostatically controlled and using only 50 watts, the Ice Eliminator is completely safe to handle and use, even in plastic birdbaths.

Keeps water available year round January 6, 2009 Molly Bolt (Oregon) This item does the trick in keeping water available for birds even when it is freezing temps outside. Connect to an extension cord and plug in, and the birds will keep coming year round.
Okay if you don't live in a very cold place January 6, 2009 K. Pearce (Des Moines, IA USA) This product works only when the weather isn't very cold. When temperatures are in the single digits or teens the water in the birdbath is frozen with a small thawed area where the ice eliminator is. I'm pretty disappointed in this product.

Thi product is awesome and last for many years. This is our third in about 20 years.
Works Great! December 24, 2008 M. Smith (Middletown, DE) Works great! I like that it shuts off when the temperature is above freezing and it doesn't need to be on. Just wish the cord was longer rather than having to use an extension cord.
Wonderful little gizmo, using to keep fountain running, little impact on electric bill. December 15, 2008 Two kids mom (Tijeras, NM United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this in the summer (much cheaper then) and put it out about 2 months ago. We have our own "homemade" fountain which consists of a large pot that holds about 10 gallons of water and a shallow dish on top. This product is able to keep the water liquid, combined with the moving water from the fountain. Night time temps have averaging about 15 F. The birds have been flocking to it. The cord is very, very short, about a foot long. That is one drawback because you will need an outdoor extension cord. It is sturdy and does not get too warm. You can easily pick it up with your bare hands when it is running. Did not notice the impact on the electric bill.
