Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Getting your 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables per day has never been easier. Honeyville's Freeze Dried Fruits have no sugar added. In fact our Freeze Dried Fruits are additive free, natural fruit. Honeyville's Freeze Dried Strawberry Slices are produced in a process where moisture is removed from the product using a very low temperature and a vacuum. Only about 3 percent moisture remains in the product at the time of packaging. The end product weight is reduced by over 90 percent, while the volume stays the same. This remarkable process concentrates the fresh product taste, natural color, and texture of fresh product in it's freeze dried state. When re-hydrated with water the product will maintain the texture and shape of fresh product, with no shrinking or shriveling. Freeze Dried and Dehydrated products are less expensive than wet pack food because you are not paying for all the water. The taste is great, and the nutritional food value is excellent. Freeze drying provides natural and additive free fruits and vegetables to be stored effectively for long periods of time. Remember Honeyville's Freeze Dried and Dehydrated fruits are stable products with a long shelf life without additives or preservatives.

5 out of 5 stars I'm still new, but finding more uses.   November 21, 2008

I bought these strawberries for one use: add it to some of my favorite cereals. I'm not a sweet-freak so I have not enjoyed other cereals that have fruit since they are usually too sweet. These are just right, having NO SUGAR added. They stay crunchy, but it's a rather airy crunchy--like a rice puff in texture, so I keep reminding myself to let the strawberries soak in a bit of milk before adding to the cereal so that the berries (which are sliced) build up a little "body."

I then tried crushing the strawberries and adding them as a powder to my home-made Kefir. It works fine. Strawberry flavored and still drinkable.

Then I started adding them to plain yoghurt to get the fruity taste without all that sweetener (waaaay too much) that commerical fruited yoghurts have.

Next I'm going to try these with cottage cheese.

The advantage of dried and frozen strawberries is that they are picked RIPE and then immediately processed. The "fresh" strawberries" that we get at the supermarket are picked too early in order to reduce spoilage (and flavor, of course), so give these a chance.

Oh, it is very tempting to just eat them like popcorn--resist the urge!!

Wonderful product highly recommended. Everytime I give to my 2yr old daughter the strawberries she thinks she is getting a special treat, she does not realize that I would give this to her all day long.

MY son loves the strawberies. We have eaten about 12 cans in the last few years since I found them for sale.

Wonderful service and product! Best price for freeze dried strawberries that I've found. There was some powder, but I've always noted this with freeze dried strawberries. I didn't think it was excessive, and I think it's great added to the graham cracker crust for cheescake. I also love sprinkling the powder on top of pancakes/waffles.

5 out of 5 stars Best strawberries ever   February 3, 2006

I've been buying these freeze dried strawberries for several months and use them mainly in my cereal. They are delicious and consistantly high quality. I have only had one can with what seemed like excessive strawberry "powder" at the bottom.
